*Fresh* Ginger Hoisin Beef Roast with Rice and Broccoli

Serving Size

This simple beef roast is coated in a savoury glaze and cooked in the oven or slow cooker.

Cooking Time: Slow Cooker 3-6 Hours, Oven 1 hr

1.Heat a pan with 2 tbsp of oil to high heat.
Sear roast on all sides to develop a crust.
2. Choose between oven or slow cooker method (we
recommend slow cooker method only for full sizes)
Place roast and contents of brown sauce
bag into slow cooker or roasting pan along with
onion mixture & water (1/4 cup for half, 1/2 cup for full)

Slow Cooker Method: Cook for 6 hours on low or
3 hours on high. Cooking times may vary for slow

Oven Method: Cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 375°F.
Before serving, transfer the roast to a cutting board
and tent with foil for 10 minutes.

Optional step: If you desire to thicken sauce, stir together
1/4 cup flour with 1/4 cup water and add to
sauce during the final 15 minutes of cooking time.
Stir occasionally.
3. Meanwhile, bring 3 cups of water (1.5 cups for
half orders) to a boil in a medium pot over
high heat. Add the rice to the boiling water and stir.
Cover and reduce heat to minimum. Cook for 20 minutes
or until water is absorbed and rice is tender.
4. Place broccoli in a pot with an inch of water. Cook
over medium high heat for 3-4 minutes until tender.
5. Slice or shred roast and drizzle with sauce
Serve over rice along with broccoli. Enjoy!
